ASPire After-School Enrichment Clubs

FAST Enrichment Clubs begin on Aug 30, 2021and end on Dec 3, 2021. 

You must enroll your child per the registration instructions provided for the vendor.  

  • If you are enrolling in a Vendor Club, you will register and pay the vendor directly. 
  • If you are enrolling in a FAST Teacher Led Club, please click HERE to register online.  Payments for FAST Teacher Led Clubs will be made on the first afternoon in which the club is in session.

FAST Teacher Led Club Ms. Christancho's BEGINNING SPANISH Grades K - 3rd $245 (all materials included) Register: HERE

Ms. Christancho, FAST Kindergarten Paraprofessional, takes students on a fun and educational exploration of the Spanish culture. Through immersion into the language, people, art and music, students gain appreciation of Spanish heritage while learning to speak the language. Students will be provided Carson Dellosa Complete Book of Spanish Workbook for Kids, School Zone Bilingual Beginning Basic Sight Words Flash Cards, Scholastic Let's Find Out magazine in Spanish, as well as other handouts.

Vendor Club Ivy Bridge Academy PUBLIC SPEAKING Grades 3rd - 5th $280 Register: HERE

Ivy Bridge Academy's Public Speaking program offers upper elementary students an opportunity to learn and engage with age-appropriate current events through the activity of debate. Students enhance their research skills, critical thinking, organizational skills, persuasion tactics, and information processing by learning about both sides of an issue, and being able to argue either side. Our program provides student with a sense of accomplishment, confidence, and skills through their schooling.

Vendor Club Ivy Bridge Academy DEBATE Grades 6th - 8th $330 Register: HERE 

Ivy Bridge Academy Debate program offers middle school students an opportunity to learn and engage with current events through the activity of debate. Students enhance their research skills, critical thinking, organizational skills, persuasion tactics, and information processing by learning about both sides of an issue, and being able to argue either side. Our program provides student with a sense of accomplishment, confidence, and skills that last a lifetime.

TUESDAYS 3:45-4:45 13 SESSIONS AUG 31 - NOV 30

FAST Teacher Led Club Mr. McKinley's MARINE BIOLOGY: Help Our Oceans Grades 3rd - 8th $385 (2 tickets GA Aquarium Tour included) Register: HERE

Mr. McKinley, FAST 6th grade science teacher immerses students in exploring, discussing, and finding solutions related to the Earth's oceans and its creatures. Each week we will focus on different topics, and as a group we will set up and maintain a saltwater aquarium with several species of tropical fish. Students will use their imagination to design their own "ocean" based on learned topics, such as climate, currents, food webs, etc. and may present to family during the final class. Lab books will be provided for note taking, so students can set up their own saltwater aquarium at home if desired. The culminating activity is a behind-the-scenes tour of the Georgia Aquarium with Mr. McKinley as your guide. Previously a Senior Environmental Educator Mr. McKinley is now a Sleepover Guide at the Georgia Aquarium.

 

WEDNESDAY 3:45-4:45 13 SESSIONS SEPT 1 - DEC 1

International chess champion Carlos Perdomo offers students instruction based on individual skill level in a fun, yet structured environment. Students learn effective tactics, how to use a chess clock, how to play against a computer, chess puzzles, etc. Students have the opportunity to play in local tournaments: standard chess, Bughouse (team chess), and Blitz (speed chess)! Awards are given for Class Champion, Most Improved, and Sportsmanship. All students complete the semester with a sense of motivation and accomplishment.

WEDNESDAY 3:45-4:45 13 SESSIONS SEPT 1 - DEC 1

Vendor Club Discover Science DISCOVER EARTH & SPACE Grades 1st - 5th $260 Register: HERE 

Students explore the outer reaches of the universe to the bottom of the oceans as we investigate processes that affect the Earth's surface, explore the celestial bodies in our solar system, and learn how we study oceans and space. Each class involves hands-on experiments and activities developed by scientists and educators. We investigate characteristics of rocks and minerals as we crack open geodes, learn how landforms change over time, make models of our solar system, explore comets and meteors, design and build space rovers, and more!

Get into the spirit and show your FAST pride! Students will learn a variety of age-appropriate cheers, chants, and dances that express their excitement about being a FAST student! Team Building games and activities will be incorporated with an emphasis on working together and supporting one another. Students will also enjoy crafts related to cheer and school spirit. A performance will be held on the last day of class for family and friends!

 

FRIDAYS 3:45-4:45 9 SESSIONS SEPT 10 - DEC 3

Vendor Club Accela Education CANVAS ART Grades K - 8th $275 (all materials included) Register: Ms. Sharma (404) 384-1061 rama@accelaeducation.com

Accela Canvas Art Program has the ability to develop students visual and spatial skills, and allows for development of skills in how to interpret and use visual information. All of our artwork is done on canvas using mixed media (e.g., acrylic paints, watercolors, etc.). Students follow guided instruction while learning to focus on details, hand-eye coordination, problem solving skills, all while building confidence in their creative abilities. You will be truly amazed at the artwork your child brings home each week!

FAST teachers are provided a spreadsheet of students enrolled in Enrichment Clubs and will direct them to the appropriate classroom on the day of their club immediately following dismissal.  Upon club dismissal (4:45 Mon-Wed and Fri; 3:45 Thurs), an authorized adult must pick up your child in the FAST Student Hall, and sign out your child with the club’s teacher.  Please do not text your child to come outside to your vehicle, as you are required to come inside for pick up for safety reasons.

If you are running late, please contact Julie Fischer, FAST After-School Programs Director at (678) 321-1100, ext 302.  Please note: Any student picked up after club dismissal will be sent to Extended Care for supervision until you arrive.  A $1.00 per minute late fee will be due at the time of pick up, with a maximum of a $30.00 drop-in fee charged for afternoon Extended Care (open until 6:30 p.m.).
