Health

Curriculum goals in health education increase in importance as we become a more technologically advanced society. Health education addresses topics that affect the whole child, from proper eating habits, the benefits of exercise, to how to prevent bullying and drug use. These topics will affect the quality of life for our children today, tomorrow and for the rest of their lives. These are the years when positive habits can be instilled and cemented. Health is a topic that is key to our children’s happiness and well-being. FAST will use curriculum that follows the GA standards for health. It also includes mandated lessons related to child abuse using age appropriate materials from a nationally recognized program. Classes will develop positive messages to be posted at school about healthy habits and how to stop bullying. Our parent support organization will bring community speakers, such as police officers, doctors and dentists, to talk with children about safety, avoiding drug use, and healthy living.
