Literacy
Grounded in the Wit & Wisdom curriculum, literacy at FAST goes beyond reading and writing skills. Through rich texts, daily writing, discussion, and creative expression, students build the confidence to think critically, form arguments, and communicate ideas clearly — every day, in every classroom.
Social Studies
Depth over memorization. Students explore history, civics, geography, and economics through project-based investigation, storytelling, and discussion — learning to connect the past to the present and see themselves as informed, engaged citizens.
Math
Math at FAST builds true understanding, not just memorized steps. Students explore real-world applications, multiple problem-solving strategies, and hands-on modeling that makes their thinking visible. The result: students who see themselves as capable mathematicians who can reason, question, and persevere.
Project-based Learning
Every PBL unit centers on a real-world driving question worth exploring. Over 6–8 weeks, students dig into interdisciplinary work, make choices about how they show their learning, and create authentic products that reflect deep understanding — not just a final test.
Science
Science instruction is hands-on and inquiry-driven from the start. Students investigate real phenomena, design experiments, and think like engineers — building both scientific knowledge and the skills to explore, question, and problem-solve with confidence.
Specials: PE, Health, Music, Art & Coding
Our specials program nurtures the whole child. Through creativity, collaboration, and STEAM-based learning — including coding — students build confidence, discover new interests, and start to see the career pathways ahead of them, all while having fun.
